Custom Sports Raincoat Production Process
Choose waterproof and breathable fabrics according to customer orders
Cut the fabric into body, sleeves, hood, pockets and other parts according to the pattern
Use a flat-bed sewing machine, overlock sewing machine, etc. to sew the cut fabric parts together.
Apply glue or spray waterproof coating on the whole to enhance the waterproof performance of the fabric surface. Press and reinforce the parts that are easy to seep water, such as hats and hems.
Reflective strips and brand logos can be sewn on request to improve safety and identification.

Material Used for Making Raincoats
The following five types of materials are the raw materials we commonly use to make raincoats (except natural fibers). They each have their own advantages and disadvantages. The most common ones are plastics, which are commonly used in disposable raincoats, and chemical fiber raincoats have a wider range of uses.
Natural Fiber Materials
Reed grass, palm leaves, etc.: These are the earliest natural plant materials used to make raincoats.
• Advantages: Naturally degradable, very environmentally friendly. Can block rain to a certain extent, and has good air permeability, relatively comfortable to wear.
• Disadvantages: Limited waterproof effect, heavy weight, and relatively simple style
Rubber Materials
• Advantages: soft and thick, high strength, excellent waterproof performance, and has been widely used in making raincoats.
• Disadvantages: This type of raincoat is relatively heavy, hard, poor in breathability, easy to get stuffy when worn, and will produce odor at high temperatures, and the surface will age.
Plastic Materials
Polyvinyl chloride (PVC): a common plastic material with excellent waterproof performance and water droplets cannot penetrate.
• Advantages: 1. PVC materials are easy to process and shape to produce raincoats of different styles. 2. Compared with other materials, PVC materials are cheap and cost-effective. 3. The surface is smooth and stains are not easy to adhere.
• Disadvantages: 1. PVC materials are not breathable, and the sweat produced by the human body cannot be discharged in time when worn. 2. The production and processing process may cause certain pollution to the environment. 3. The texture of PVC is relatively hard, and the flexibility and comfort when worn will be affected to a certain extent.
Polyethylene (PE): It has good waterproofness and flexibility, light texture, low price, and is often used to make disposable raincoats or simple raincoats.
• Advantages: 1. PE material is relatively soft and light. 2. It has good tolerance to general acids, alkalis and other chemicals. 3. PE itself is non-toxic and odorless, non-irritating to human skin, and will not cause harm to health.
• Disadvantages: 1. Relatively weak wear resistance and tear resistance. 2. PE has a relatively low melting point and is easy to deform and soften in high temperature environments. 3. Poor air permeability, the wearer feels stuffy and humid, and the comfort is poor.
Thermoplastic polyurethane elastomer rubber (TPU): This is an environmentally friendly material with excellent properties such as high strength, high toughness, wear resistance, oil resistance, and excellent waterproof performance.
• Advantages: 1. Unlike materials such as PVC and PE, TPU has certain breathability. 2. It has high strength and wear resistance and can withstand friction and pulling. 3. TPU is an environmentally friendly material that does not contain harmful substances and is relatively friendly to the human body and the environment.
• Disadvantages: 1. The production cost is relatively high. 2. The processing technology requirements are high. 3. TPU has poor tolerance to ultraviolet rays and is prone to aging when exposed to sunlight for a long time.
Chemical Fiber Materials
Nylon: It is not waterproof in itself, but by applying a waterproof coating on the surface, such as polyurethane (PU), thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU), etc., a good waterproof effect can be achieved.
Polyester: The biggest advantage is that it has good wrinkle resistance and shape retention. After special waterproof treatment, the waterproof performance is also relatively reliable, suitable for long-term wear in outdoor activities.
Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE): It has excellent waterproof and breathable properties. The raincoat made of it is light and comfortable to wear, with excellent waterproof and breathable properties. It also has the characteristics of corrosion resistance and aging resistance. It was first used in the production of military uniforms and protective clothing, and then also used in the manufacture of sportswear, tents and other items.
High-tech Composite Fabric
GORE-TEX: It is a composite of a thin film and a high-performance textile fabric, and is sealed with a new type of adhesive. Its microporous membrane structure can block moisture from entering while allowing sweat to escape.
